With emphasis on the digital revolution that is sweeping the industry, there has never been a more exciting and challenging time for the medium. Launch Pad will examine and embrace these changes which affect not just how we create comics, but also how we deliver them to readers. All aspects of traditional and digital methods of creating and distributing comics, as well as the ever growing and diverse self-publishing movement, will be covered in depth.

The Mackintosh Church Arts & Heritage Centre
Welcome to Glasgow Comic Con. The first event of it's kind in Glasgow for 15 years. We'll be going 'old school' with new twists. The event will be taking place in the unconvential but totally stunning Mackintosh Church, Arts & Heritage Centre, where "pop culture comics meets a design icon".
31st March – 1st April 2012
Eden Court, Inverness
The first comics event of its kind in the Highlands was held on 2nd & 3rd February 2008, at Eden Court, Inverness. It all started with a chance conversation and snowballed from there into a great first-year success - despite having less than four months to organise it, no budget and snow blocking the main roads on the actual weekend!
We at Hi-Ex are proud to be the only comic event that seeks to bring comics, sci-fi, cartoons and sequential arts to a new audience in the North, while giving existing comic fans in Scotland a convention of their own. Our goals are to raise money for charity, to give families and children a chance join in with some good geek fun, and to inspire a new generation to become great Scottish comic creators. We are determined to represent as wide a spectrum as possible of comics: classic British titles, Manga, sci-fi, thriller, gaming, fantasy, horror, superheroes, European, cartoons, children's, independent, humour, and much much more!

Taking place at a variety of venues across the city, our aim is to cater to both long-time comic book fans and those who have never picked up a graphic novel before!
